Away

Day14_away

In  the midst of a major life change, it can all get overwhelming to the point where you just want to get up and run away.  But what would I be running from?  My family?  My house?  The mess in my house?  The expectation of finding a new job? I have to admit that I’ve wished that I could pack up and go. If I had my way, I would head to Hawaii or some other tropical place where I could sit out in the sun and listen to the ocean, forgetting about what was (or wasn’t) waiting for me at home.

But one can never really run away from life. No matter how much we want to bury

Work

Day13_work

He restores my soul.
(Psalm 23:1-3 ESV)

Rest.  It’s something we all need. When you are on the verge of burnout and your body begins so show signs of wear, that is one way the Lord reminds us that we must rest.  But, if you are like me, rest does not come easy. I like to keep myself busy, for the most part, to avoid thinking too hard about my circumstances. Even when I sit still to read or pray, I am in a constant battle to quiet

Care

Day10_Care

Today was a hard day. It started out good, but then an unexpected financial situation came up which threw me for a loop, and I tail spun into anxiety and fear, and I wondered where God was in the midst of all of this change.

You see, in my weakness, I can easily fall into the sin of not recognizing that He is the Ever-Present God, the One who said He would never leave me.  When my flesh fights against feelings of loneliness, fear and anxiety, my brain automatically tells me that God is not in the situation. In my weakness, I believe the lie that says He is not moving on my behalf,
