Walking by Faith — 20 Comments

  1. Barbie, my family also lost our house and any financial security when my dad lost his job. It’s hard, but walking by Faith has been worth every minute. Oh so worth it! Thanks,  Barbie!

  2. It is hard to rely on God when things don’t make sense.  I am glad that you are able to see God working even in a difficult situation.

  3. Barbie, I love this.  This story is my story.  Husband unemployed 3 yrs.  Left CA after choosing to short sell our home (my first) so we could make ends meet.  Pursuing self-employment.  Blogging to encourage others.  Having many moments where my faith has wavered and I’ve wondered, how much longer do we have to wait?  How much more power does this storm have?  Shouldn’t it be nearing the end?  And then God reminds me that He has carried us this far and blessed us abundantly.  Why on earth would I think He doesn’t have the financial piece in His precious hands?  All in God’s perfect timing.

    Blessings my friend,
    Rosann

  4. I think we all have doubts that surface now and again. But they can help us see our weak spots. I appreciate you sharing so openly here. I can’t imagine how difficult all this must have been. 🙁 Your faith encourages me.

    • Thank you Lisa.  I am realizing there are so many who have either walked this road or are currently walking it.  Hopefully the Lord will use me and my blog to continue to encourage!

  5. Hi Barbie,
I love your walk, it is very God centered and humbling. I love how God is providing for you and your family. The ministry God has given you is reaching lots, I am gaining so much from your experiences that you revel on this blog. Thank you for being obedient to Him, you are very precious to me. 🙂
My faith walk has a lot to do with stepping out in obedience to spiritual warfare. :s Not something that I wish to be in but God has put me here and all I can do is rely on Him to guide and provide. Sometimes I just feel like I am walking with nothing under me, then He shows up and opens my eyes and I see there is solid ground under me. Praise Jesus!! He really is Amazing! 🙂

    Blessings,

    • Thank you so much for your encouragement!  You my friend have a gift of intercession and I love your heart for others.  Yes, He will keep you on solid ground!

  6. Oh Barbie, yes.. I can relate. Walking by faith is tough and sometimes we walk so blind that we begin to doubt. Faith like a mustard seed, faith to move a mountain… this is my hearts cry!!

Thanks for linking up and joining in the Koinonia community. Love you friend!

  7. Barbie, I can’t imagine how scary it must be financially sometimes.  We only have one little mouth to feed and cloth.

I have no doubt that God will continue to meet your needs according to His riches in glory.  We may not always have our “wants” met, but our needs … He always makes a way.

    Love & blessings,
    Beth

  8. I walk by faith, then I get confident in myself, then I stumble, then I remember that I don’t have to do it in my strength, but His – and I walk by faith again.  When I have my eyes fixed on Jesus, there is peace and joy.  Thanks for the encouragement to keep my eyes locked with His.

  9. Just beautiful! We too struggled through circumstances with no money. It was then that I learned that God truly as He promises Jehovah Jirah – the God who provides! So thankful we have faith. Some days I hang on to that mustard seed of faith because that’s all I can muster. 🙂 BTW – thanks for the follow.
